Collaboration between Groot Hospitality, owned by David Grutman, and Tao Group Hospitality is set to make its long-awaited debut later this month in Edgewater.

         

This expansive 20,000-square-foot restaurant, overlooking Biscayne Bay, aims to offer a grandiose setting for Miami’s coastal Italian cuisine. The restaurant presents Riviera-style Italian dishes against the stunning backdrop of Biscayne Bay.

The menu draws inspiration from coastal towns such as Naples and Positano, featuring delectable offerings like crispy young artichoke, royal dorade, bistecca Fiorentina, and a variety of handmade pastas like campanelle bolognese.

The restaurant presents Riviera-style Italian dishes against the stunning backdrop of Biscayne Bay.The menu draws inspiration from coastal towns such as Naples and Positano, featuring delectable offerings like crispy young artichoke, royal dorade, bistecca Fiorentina, and a variety of handmade pastas like campanelle bolognese.Additionally, the restaurant boasts a crudo bar with tantalizing options such as langoustine ceviche and tuna carpaccio.To complement the dining experience, a selection of cocktails and an extensive vintage collection are available. “This marks our first venture into the Miami market,” says Noah Tepperberg, co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality. “It is an honor to be located in such a significant landmark within the city, and we are thrilled to partner with Groot Hospitality on this endeavor.David and his team possess a deep understanding of Miami, and with our combined strengths, I am confident that Casadonna will quickly become a timeless classic.” The restaurant’s name, Casadonna, pays homage to its location within the Miami Women’s Club building. “Casa” and “donna” translate to “home” and “woman” in Italian.The Miami Women’s Club, established in 1900, has played a pivotal role in various community initiatives, including supporting the establishment of what is now Everglades National Park. Casadonna’s interiors were designed by Ken Fulk in collaboration with Groot Hospitality and Tao Group Hospitality.The entrance features a double-height Courtyard Bar situated in the building’s original atrium, adorned with flowers and a retractable roof.Inside, the restaurant offers distinct areas such as the Garden Dining Room and the Loggia Dining Room, each showcasing unique design elements and breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay. The layout culminates at the Ocean Bar, which features lounges and outdoor dining spaces overlooking the bay.As patrons transition through these spaces, the captivating bay views gradually capture their attention.Fulk explains, “We delved deep into the history of Miami architecture and this building, and we arrived at a shared vision that incorporates the grandeur of nearby Vizcaya and the exotic allure of the Long Bar at Raffles in Singapore.” While Tao Group may be new to Miami, it is certainly not new to the restaurant and club scene. “We have customers who plan their social calendars entirely around our collection of restaurants.” With 70 properties worldwide, including 30 locations in New York City alone, Tao Group has established an impressive global presence.Tao, its eponymous pan-Asian restaurant in Midtown, first opened its doors in 2000, and since then, Tao Group has continued to expand its reach in NYC with popular establishments such as Lavo in Midtown and Beauty and Essex on the Lower East Side.Grutman’s Groot Hospitality owns and operates several successful venues in the city, including LIV Nightclub, Komodo, Swan, Papi Steak, Key Club, and Gekko, a joint venture with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny.Casadonna can be found at 1737 N Bayshore Drive, offering an enticing dining experience in the heart of Miami’s Edgewater neighborhoodADDRESSWEBSITEhttp://www.casadonnamiami.comHOURSWhat's Your Reaction?
